A fantastic movie based on real events. The story is shocking and shows the power of racism and corruption in America. The actors did okay, nothing incredible, but the storyline compensates that fact. A very valuable one in that it shows how injustice (such as but not only racism) can become institutionalised within a society. It starts with a precipitate rush to judgement, based on bigoted attitudes, and spreads ever more perfidiously as people seek to defend the original decision and cover up errors made, in a process that can become quite horrific and destroy the fabric of the society they are misguidedly attempting to 'protect.
In this film (spoiler alert) belated justice hinged on two people eventually being moved by their consciences. But justice should never have to depend on that!
PS: if they really wanted to force the issue on capital punishment, they could've shown the execution of Richardson. It would've moved the film into the realm of 'horror story' but aren't films without mayhem or ghouls, like "Room" and "Gone Girl" nevertheless horror stories anyway.

I saw the movie at the Toronto International film festival. Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx were extraordinary, so talented; the whole cast was fantastic. The story, the movie touched me so much; I'm sure lots of people had a tear in their eyes at the end of the movie. Thank you for bringing that story to the big screen and thank you for a fantastic performance. They were in marvel (Disney) movies and now working with WB damn WB is killing it this year with artistic movies. What an emotional rollercoaster of a movie.
I thouroughly enjoyed this movie from start to finsh. The pace of the movie suited the scenario, the acting was nothing but brilliant.
The terrible injustice of the legal system in the states is shocking and this movie showed how easy it is to give life sentences and to execute innocent people with virtually no evidence against them, just hear say or pressure from the authorities.

A knew a would enjoy the film knowing the three main actors but simply did not expect what a just seen. Story was outstanding, making you feel such a range of emotions. Performances from the actors were as expected excellent. Must see. Its like they are one upping each other with compliments 😂. I remember when I saw Rihanna in London when she was 17 years old, on her own. She stood next to me, a normal girl about to perform in a small gathering. I wish I spoke to her, and somehow had a chance to stay in touch with her, not because shes gone on to become a global star) but because she blossomed into one the most admirable, beautiful women and soul. Her heart is the purest and most loving to humanity. She feels the pain of normal people. Shes kind and always uses her voice unlike many other celebrities.

I ain't crying you crying 😂😂😂😭😭. This looks really good ima watch it. I enjoyed Michael B Jordan, so sad i cant personally tell him about those acting moments in Just Mercy. This movie touches your heart! It is about dedication, caring and believing in people and our justice system! Believing that no matter what your race is - we all matter and have a place In this world to be treated fair.

Dang, I got pretty emotional, almost starting crying and it was just from the trailer. I'm crying just watching the trailer. When people of color start supporting each other then maybe something will change. Such a powerful movie. This trailer actually gave me the chills. Its so powerful I have no choice but to watch. Michael B. Jordan is everything I want in a man.
